Messy Church will be back again on Wednesday 25th October 2017 at 2.30pm. We will be looking at the parable of The Ten Bridesmaids.

We will be serving a cold tea at 4pm as part of the event. Please do let us know via the booking form (below) if you have any dietary requirements and we will do our best to cater for these.

This is a free event, but there is a donations bucket at the welcome desk to cover the cost of the activities and the food (recommended donation of £2 per child). Please if possible let us know if you need to cancel your booking as we often get full (there is a limit to the number of spaces available); this can be done via the website or by calling the office on 01525 371905.

In the meantime, why not join us for Early Church - a family friendly service on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month at 9.15am.

What is Messy Church?

Messy Church is a form of Church for children and adults involving creativity, celebration and hospitality. Messy Church is open to everyone of all ages.

Do I have to belong to a Church to come along?

No, Messy Church is open to those who do attend and those who don’t attend any Church

What happens at Messy Church?

Messy Christmas 2015 3 315There is a craft/creative time exploring a biblical theme, a short celebration which usually involves a bible story, songs, sometimes dancing and prayers. Refreshments of a light tea (we vary between cooked meals and buffet style food, cake, fruit and juice for the children and hot drinks and cake for the adults) follow the celebration.

Do I have to be there from the start?

The activities start at 2.30pm and go on until 3.30pm. The celebration usually starts at around 3.30pm with refreshments at about 3.50pm.  You can join in the activities at any time although they will stop and not continue after the celebration.

Can I invite a friend?

Yes, provided they complete an application form.

What if I just turn up on the door?

There are limited spaces so it is advisable to book in advance. We cannot be sure that you will be able to get in if you haven’t done so. This also helps us to gauge the amount of food and activities necessary. We also offer families with additional needs the opportunity to have additional support in completing the activities so they are able to fully participate in the session; this is done best when indicated on the form.

How much does it cost?

Messy Church is an act of worship in itself and so is provided as a free celebration. There is a donations bucket for those who wish to donate towards the cost of the activites and the food.
